David is a Medical Doctor (MD. Ph.D. MSc.) and Entrepreneur with over 5-years experience as a Founder, Operator and Consultant to several businesses in the Caribbean & Latin America. His academic profile includes an MSc & Doctorate of Philosophy at Oxford (Rhodes Scholarship) with research on immunotherapeutics, a mini-MBA at INSEAD and healthcare business studies at Harvard Business School.

Professionally, he is committed to attracting world-class healthcare resources into emerging markets, with current focus on the Caribbean & Latin America through collating best-practices and global insights that are actioned through companies spanning healthcare services, strategy consulting in healthcare, medical education & conferences. He has worked on several multi-million dollar projects in the Caribbean, including the introduction of health technologies, development of Centres of Excellence and turnarounds for small-medium medical practices.  Throughout Covid-19, he worked on the largest private donation of PPE to the Caribbean and has launched Covid-19 pool-testing in Jamaica. His work in Covid-19 has been recognized by the University of Oxford, Forbes, Lancet, United Nations, IMF and the World Economic Forum.

 

David is Founding Partner of The Visionaries’ Summit & My Destination Experience, a knowledge & opportunity exchange platform designed to attract investment, innovation and influence to the Caribbean with an aim to catalyze new enterprise and wealth creation. Participants in these platforms collectively control in excess of US$140 billion in equity and investment capital and to date have seeded over US$300 million in investments across various sectors in the region.

 

He is the outgoing Co-Chair of the Covid-19 Steering Committee of the WEF Global Shapers Community, a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council and a WEF Young Global Leader.
